Chicken Programming: Stroker Ace and the Death of John Wes Townley.

Former NASCAR driver John Wes Townley was shot and killed on October 2, 2021. Reportedly, he attacked his ex-wife Laura Townley and Zachary Anderson with a hatchet at her home in the Five Points area of Athens, Georgia. Zachary Anderson shot and killed John Wes, and accidentally shot Laura, who sustained serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.

Heavy Metal Tributes: Bruce Corbitt of Rigor Mortis dies.

Heavy metal vocalist Bruce Corbitt died on 25 January 2019 after he was diagnosed with stage III esophageal cancer in May 2017. Corbitt’s aggressive vocals were first showcased on Rigor Mortis’s self-titled debut, which is regarded as a landmark of speed metal, and the band was one of the first of its type to have a major label release. Rigor Mortis formed in 1983 in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas metroplex setting up some nice Texas tributes here. So let’s connect some dots with Bruce Corbitt’s death, the roots of the speed metal genre, and some of the other names in the world of “metal” and “rock n’ roll”.
